How to Carve it Like a Pro
Let yourself be surprised by the health benefits of pumpkin
When we think of Halloween, we obviously think of pumpkins (and candy!). However, what you may not think of is all the possible simple and easy recipes you could make with a pumpkin. In fact, pumpkin pulp is extremely nutritious and offers many health benefits.
Pumpkins contain several antioxidant nutrients that directly benefit certain functions of our immune systems. Currently, there are many viruses going around and adopting healthy eating habits is a good way to help our body fight them off.
Pumpkin seeds are usually the part of the pumpkin that most of us use. Not only are they easy to incorporate in salads, soups, greek yogurt, and cereals, they are rich in magnesium, iron and fatty acids. Also, did you know that the pulp of the pumpkin is easy and fast to digest while being very low in calories?
Team STÄRK had the great idea of making a pumpkin based Alfredo sauce for your pasta and would love to share it with you. As we all know, a hockey player’s go to meal the night before a big game is plate of pasta. Why not include healthy alternatives by using pumpkin to add some colour to your pre-game meals?

For this reason, we decided it would be a great idea to offer you some recipes with pumpkin pulp. These recipes, made and approved by Team STÄRK, will allow you to have the necessary energy you will need to improve your performance on the ice or in the gym.
You’re leaving work and heading to the rink, or you just finished your physics class and you’re on your way to the gym, this protein packed pumpkin energy ball is a must. A great afternoon pick-me- up!
We can all probably agree that an athlete’s nutrition is constant work. Breakfast is known as being the most important meal of the day, and for this reason we are sharing with you one of our go-to breakfast pumpkin bar recipes. These oatmeal maple pumpkin bars are a great on-the-go breakfast when you need to leave the house quickly to get to practice or work. They are easy and practical in addition to being healthy and offering several nutritional benefits. i.
Carve like a Pro
One of STÄRK Hockey’s missions is to demonstrate our passion for the sport while offering products that are different and fun.
In this same perspective, we are announcing our Carve like a Pro contest, available to all our STÄRK families out there. We are promising our participants an entertaining afternoon filled with fun and laughter allowing you to get the family together during these harder times.
In addition to being able to show off your creativity and pumpkin carving skills, by participating in our contest, you have the chance to win a pair Halloween themed STÄRK Hockey socks, one of our Toronto 6 or Boston Pride crewnecks, candy to share with the family and your teammates, and much more!
In order to participate in the Carve like a pro contest, you will need to carve the STÄRK Hockey logo on a pumpkin and share your masterpiece on our social media pages and don’t forget to tag and challenge your teammates.
